“The Wiz”
8 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sunday
This groundbreaking twist on “The Wizard of Oz” changed the face of Broadway — from its iconic score packed with soul, gospel, rock and ‘70’s funk to its stirring tale of Dorothy’s journey to find her place in a contemporary world. Celebrity Attractions wraps its Tulsa stop this weekend.
47th Annual Kids Fishing Derby
8 a.m. to noon Saturday
Kids can compete in age groups and win prizes at the annual Kids Fishing Derby presented by Bixby Optimist Club at Lake Bixhoma. It’s free to participate, and there will be free hot dogs, drinks, and T-shirts. Lessons are available for people who don’t know how to fish. Poles and bait are not included.
Oddities & Curiosities Expo
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
This annual event at Expo Square showcases hand selected vendors, dealers, artists and small businesses with all things weird. You’ll find items such as: taxidermy, preserved specimens, original artwork, horror/halloween inspired pieces, antiques, handcrafted oddities, quack medical devices, creepy clothing, odd jewelry, skulls/bones, funeral collectibles and much more.
Turkish Food and Art Festival
11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday
It’s a delicious celebration of Turkish culture and cuisine. Broken Arrow’s Raindrop Turkish House hosts the family-friendly fun event where attendees can enjoy authentic Turkish foods and sweets with traditional flavors.
“A People’s Museum” free drawing workshop
1 to 3 p.m. Saturday
Contribute to this international participatory artwork by adding your own memories to the archive at Positive Space Tulsa. “A People’s Museum” of LGBTQ2S+ History by AK/OK is a living archive of hand-drawn portraits and personal stories, created by people from across the U.S. and internationally.
