From April 24-26, indie bookstores are preparing to open their doors to book lovers celebrating Independent Bookstore Day with discounts, prizes and more.
Here is your guide to visiting the 10 bookstores in Tulsa that are participating in the Northeastern Okie Indie Bookstore Crawl.
Magic City Books
Head downtown and grab your free punch card at the first store on the list — Magic City Books, 221 E. Archer St. The nonprofit is going big for the book holiday with giveaways, discounts and scheduled events from the time it opens its doors. Schedule the start of your crawl around the events you can’t miss.
At 10 a.m., there will be a children’s storytime event hosted by Betty Selakovich Casey, Oklahoma Book Award winner Alton Carter and Jennifer Riem. At 11:30 a.m., a discussion on writing will begin with Bailey Gaylin Moore and Donald Quist. At 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., author discussions are scheduled with Jess Gutierrez, Morris Collins, Moore, Quist and Paul Juhasz.
Hours: 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday
Peace of Mind Bookstore
Don’t fret if Magic City takes up a chunk of your time or if you skip it altogether. You can get a punch card at any participating store. Yet, you might as well hit both spots as the second stop and the oldest bookstore in Tulsa — Peace of Mind Bookstore — is only located about two miles away at 1407 E. 15th St..
Don’t forget to check out its spiritual products including crystals, incense, tarot cards and more to truly find your zen as you get lost in your new finds.
Hours: 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, 1-4 p.m. Sunday
Meadow Market Books
Hit this spot right after Peace of Mind without having to move the car. Meadow Market Books, 1514 E. 15th St., is a two-minute walk from the last stop. The new store opened in January and is owned by a couple who found a shared love for storytelling and local bookstores.
Hours: 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, noon-6 p.m. Saturday-Sunday

Oak Tree Books
On the same street, you’ll find the perfect specialized book store for the collector in your life. Oak Tree Books, 2812 E. 15th St., focuses on rare editions of used books. Prices are high for the unique titles, but it’s worth getting your card punched and checking out the world of historical literature even if you don’t make a purchase.
Hours: 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Friday-Saturday, closed Sunday
Kinara Bookstore (Pop-up)
After a trip to downtown Tulsa and Cherry Street, it may be time for some caffeine. The Kinara Bookstore is a pop-up shop located inside Jones Co. Coffee, 2446 E. 11th St.. Grab a drink and check out the collection of stories Kinara Bookstore offers from marginalized authors.
Hours: Closed Friday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday-Sunday
FableRealm Books
If you need to peel your eyes away from the summaries on the back of the books for a minute, FableRealm has much for you to see. Located in Decopolis, 5729 E. 11th St., you can check out the bookstore, ice cream parlor, retail store and mini deco-art museum.
Hours: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday-Saturday, 12-6 p.m. Sunday
Gardner’s Used Books
With your wallet empty and your book bag near full, Gardner’s Used Books, 4421 S. Mingo Rd., is the perfect next stop. As the largest used book store in Tulsa, it has used books, vinyls, comics and more at discounted prices. You can also trade used books for store credit.
Hours: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday-Saturday, closed Sunday

Nickles Used Books and More
In a thrifting mood after Gardner’s, don’t fret. The next stop brings you over to Broken Arrow to check out a selection of used books, music, electronics, games, toys and more. Think Vintage Stock, but locally owned. Nickels Used Books is located at 816 S. Aspen Ave.
Hours: noon-8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, noon-5 p.m. Sunday
Rivendell Books and Baubles
A two-minute drive or a six-minute walk is all that separates you from Nickles and Rivendell, 2034 W. Houston St. Here you can find all the books you see on BookTok along with locally-made art and books from local authors.
Hours: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday-Saturday, Closed on Sundays
Book and Bloom
The last stop in BA is Book and Bloom, 115 E. Dallas St. Grab some flowers to thank any companions who tagged along. Or simply grab a book off the shelf and sit in one of the shop’s many cozy areas while enjoying the floral scenery.
Hours: 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m., closed Sunday

If you have time to leave the Tulsa area, visiting the following stores will make you eligible for a coupon that can be reused at every location. There is also a prize box full of merchandise from each store. Remember you have all three days and you can receive a punch on your card regardless of if you make a purchase.
