The Texas Playboys, under the direction of Jason Roberts, returned to Cain’s Ballroom Saturday and Sunday for two nights of a Western swing birthday celebration for the late Bob Wills, who originally led the band.

Saturday featured a live broadcast of “Swing On This with John Wooley” and Sunday opened with Katie Shore Music. During the Sunday performance, Roberts was inducted into the National Fiddler Hall of Fame. 

For many years Cain’s Ballroom was known as “The Home of Bob Wills” because, from 1935 to 1942, the Texas Playboys played weekly shows led by Wills.
