Hearts & Minds Town Hall: Photography
6 p.m. Friday
Acclaimed photojournalists Dudley M. Brooks and Fred Sweets visit Philbrook Museum of Art for a town hall conversation about the legacy and impact of Gordon Parks’ photojournalism and how it continues to inspire today’s photographers. The event will be moderated by yours truly.
First Friday Art Crawl
6 to 9 p.m. Friday
The Tulsa Arts District hosts its monthly art crawl. Highlights include Photographs by Anitra Lavanhar at 101 Archer, Becoming Form by Gabriel Delponte at 11 N. Cheyenne Ave. and Guthrie Green celebrates women-owned businesses.
Osage Nation Sovereignty Celebration Dance
2 p.m. Saturday
The Osage Nation Sovereignty Celebration Dance, held at Skyline Event Center, is an annual gathering to celebrate the ratification of the tribe’s constitution. All are welcome to join.
Bob Wills’ Texas Playboys at Cain’s
6 p.m Saturday; 4 p.m. Sunday
The Texas Playboys, under the direction of Jason Roberts, return for two nights of the annual Western swing celebration. Saturday features a live broadcast of “Swing On This with John Wooley” and Sunday opens with Katie Shore Music. Two-day passes are available.
Pearls, Pitches & Pour Decisions (Present Your Friend!)
8 to 10 p.m. Saturday
Be your best friend’s personal hype squad and build a slideshow for a three-minute presentation to pitch why your bestie is a catch. Their match could be in the crowd at Pearl Beach Brew Pub.
