We don’t believe in reporting the news from our desks. Led by Community Journalism Director Lexi Goodnough, our staff are on the ground, meeting residents where they live, work and play.

Here is whereyou can find us the week of March 2 – 6. Got an idea of where we should head next? Email us at lexi@tulsaflyer.org about how we can connect with your community.

Build neighbors’ English skills: Goodnough will join Rising Village’s weekly Conversation Cafe at 7 p.m. March 2 at 10310 S. Sheridan Road. Conversation Cafe provides a friendly environment for English learners to practice speaking and native English speakers to learn about other cultures.

Explore the social impact of journalism: As part of a collaboration with the Philbrook Museum of Art, the Tulsa Flyer is hosting two town hall discussions in honor of the Gordon Parks photography exhibition. Food, arts and culture editor Tim Landes will moderate a “Hearts & Minds Town Hall” from 6 to 8 p.m. March 6. Special guests include decorated photojournalists Fred Sweets and Dudley M. Brooks. Admission to the Philbrook is $5 after 5 p.m. and free for museum members.
