In this edition of Snapshot, we are bringing Tulsans the information and tools they need to vote.
As part of the mission of the Tulsa Flyer, The Oklahoma Eagle and our partner publications to encourage civic engagement, we gathered questions asked by locals who don’t regularly vote or have not voted for a while or at all: Where can I vote? How do I fill out a ballot? What identification is needed at the polls? We present the answers to these and other questions here.
And just in time. Local elections are coming Aug. 25. Tulsans will have the chance to vote for City Council members. Councilors are the key decision makers on which projects in different neighborhoods get attention. They play a key role in deciding how your local tax dollars are spent. This is the chance for Tulsans to decide who will support their interests for the next two years.
Elections are also scheduled for statewide and national candidates Nov. 3. We hope the information we present here will encourage you to vote.
Snapshot is a quarterly production of Tulsa Flyer, The Oklahoma Eagle and its partner publications, including NPR affiliate KOSU, investigative outlet The Frontier, bilingual newspaper La Semana and monthly radio show Focus: Black Oklahoma.
