Tulsans got the Hollywood treatment Wednesday night when Dogstar, featuring acclaimed actor Keanu Reeves on bass, arrived at Tulsa Theater as part of the band’s “All in Now Tour.”

Dogstar is composed of Reeves with Bret Domrose on vocals and guitar and Robert Mailhouse on drums. They are touring in support of their fourth studio album “All in Now.”

The band started in Los Angeles in 1991 and had a solid decade-long run before parting ways. After a 20-year hiatus, the band reunited in 2022 and played publicly again for the first time in 2023.

Reeves is best known for his movie career, with the New York Times naming him in 2020 as the fourth-greatest actor of the 21st century. Among his most notable roles are Neo in “The Matrix” series, John Wick in a four-movie series and Johnny Utah in “Point Break,” where he starred alongside Tulsan Gary Busey — also a musician.

As the band played through a 19-song set Wednesday, they paused between songs midway through to acknowledge it was their first trip to Tulsa. Reeves then smiled, as he did often throughout the show, and they resumed playing.

Brooklyn-based The Backfires opened for Dogstar.
