There are many things to do in September for the Latino and Hispanic community across Tulsa, from celebrating the start of Hispanic Heritage Month Sept. 15 to visiting the Caja de Agua at Tulsa Botanic Garden.

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month
Tulsa Global District will host its annual Fiesta de Tulsa starting at 3 p.m. Sept. 19 at 1801 S. Garnett Road. The festival will kick off with a parade leading to Hannah Hall.
The festival includes the traditional Grito de Independencia, local food and vendors, cultural and family-friendly activities. The district will also have live music as part of the Levitt Block Series. It’s free to attend.
Check out the new Beat Boxes project
The Beat Boxes project is a new public art initiative bringing together local artists, music and culture in east Tulsa.
Six traffic control boxes were transformed into new pieces of artwork. Each box has a QR code that plays a different music track. Find the locations here.

Oklahoma laws around food truck regulations have been complicated.
The state is hosting a one-stop shop for mobile food vendors. Propane inspections are set from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 22 and Sept. 23 at 1222 E. State Farm Blvd. Bring your food truck and any applicable documentation needed for inspection and permitting. You can RSVP here.
Visit Caja de Agua
The Tulsa Botanic Garden will offer free admission for 918 Days from Sept. 18 to Sept. 20. The garden in far north Tulsa is home to Caja de Agua, a gift from Tulsa’s Sister City San Luis Potosi.
La Caja de Agua, translated to “water box,” was unveiled in October 2025 at the Tulsa Botanic Garden after years in the making.
