We don’t believe in reporting the news from our desks. Led by Community Journalism Director Lexi Goodnough, our staff are on the ground, meeting residents where they live, work and play.
Here is where you can find us the week of April 20-24.
Community meet and greet: On April 21, several Flyer/Eagle staff will join neighbors at Coffee Bunker, which serves veteran and military families, for community and conversation. Find more information about the group here.
Food and resource festival: Goodnough is tabling at a Food on the Move festival from 5:30 to 7 p.m. April 21 at Chamberlain Park, 4940 N. Frankfort Ave. Come learn about free resources available to community members and tell us which stories are important to you.
Eagle cleanup and cookout: Join friends, neighbors and the Eagle team from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 25 at B.C. Franklin Park to have fun while beautifying the park! Food and cleaning supplies will be provided. RSVP here so we have an idea of who’s coming.
Mental health expo: Humble Warrior Collective and Coffee Bunker are working together to host a Mindfulness & Mental Health Expo from noon to 5 p.m. April 26 at Tulsa VFW 577, 1109 E. 6th St. Our team will table alongside other organizations at the fair as attendees participate in Tai Chi and learn from mental health professionals in a trauma-informed class.
