The Tulsa Community Development Committee unanimously approved a recommendation from the City of Tulsa’s grant administration to award $50,000 in leftover Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to Meals on Wheels to help feed elderly and disabled people.

At the committee’s March 31 meeting, city grants manager Rhys Williams said the funds must be spent by June 4, 2026, and the grants administration department recommended allocating the remaining funds to Meals on Wheels, which provides meals to elderly and disabled residents.

Williams said Meals on Wheels typically spends about $30,000 over a six-week period. The organization was previously awarded $500,000 in relief funding.
