The Tulsa area has over 25 public school districts, each with their own elected boards of education — the governing bodies for schools. These boards decide the future of your school district. 

School boards are elected by citizens to help manage schools and evaluate the district’s superintendent. They hold public meetings where you can directly express your opinions on the topics discussed that day or on broader issues affecting all schools. But each district has slightly different rules for how you can address the board. 

We’ve compiled when each Tulsa school board meets, where you can access agendas and how to speak at meetings below. 

Tulsa County

Tulsa Public Schools

The TPS Board of Education typically meets twice a month at 5:30 p.m. on Mondays. All meetings are in the Cheryl Selman Room at the Charles C. Mason Education Service Center, 3027 S. New Haven Ave. in Tulsa. Agendas are posted here.

To address the board on an agenda item, complete a paper form by 5:25 p.m. the day of the meeting or an electronic form by noon the day of the meeting. To comment on a non-agenda issue, submit a request form seven calendar days before the scheduled meeting. All speakers receive three to five minutes. Union Public Schools

Union’s Board of Education typically meets the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. All meetings are in the board room of the Union Education Service Center, 8506 E. 61st St. in Tulsa. Agendas are posted here.

To address the board on an agenda item or issue concerning the district, speakers must sign in between 6:30 and 6:45 p.m. before the scheduled meeting. All speakers receive three minutes.

Broken Arrow Public Schools

Broken Arrow’s Board of Education typically meets monthly on Mondays at 6 p.m. All meetings are in the board room of the Education Service Center, 701 S. Main St. in Broken Arrow. Agendas are posted here

To address the board on an agenda item or issue concerning the district, complete a form in-person and present it to the board clerk or president 30 minutes before the scheduled meeting. Speakers addressing an agenda topic receive five minutes. Speakers on a non-agenda topic receive three. Guidelines can be found here.

Jenks Public Schools

Jenks’ Board of Education typically meets the second Monday of each month at 5 p.m. All meetings are in the board room of the Jenks Public Schools Education Service Center, 211 E. A St. in Jenks. Agendas are posted here.

To address the board on an agenda item, register with the board clerk or deputy clerk 15 minutes before the scheduled meeting. To comment on a non-agenda issue, submit a request to the board clerk or deputy clerk by 4 p.m. the Wednesday before the scheduled meeting. All speakers receive five minutes. Bixby Public Schools

Bixby’s Board of Education typically meets monthly on Thursdays at 6 p.m. All meetings are located at 601 S. Riverview Drive in Bixby. Agendas are posted here

To address the board on an agenda item or issue concerning the district, sign in 15 minutes before the meeting. All speakers receive three minutes. Guidelines can be found here.

Owasso Public Schools

Owasso’s Board of Education typically meets the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. All meetings are in the Dale C. Johnson Education Service Center Conference Room, 1501 N. Ash St. in Owasso. Agendas are posted here

Collinsville Public Schools

Collinsville’s Board of Education typically meets the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. All meetings are located in the Education Service Center, 1902 W. Maple St. in Collinsville. Agendas are posted here

To address the board on an agenda item, submit a form at least 15 minutes before the scheduled meeting. To comment on a non-agenda issue, submit a request to the board clerk at least seven days before the scheduled meeting. All speakers receive three minutes. Guidelines can be found here.

Skiatook Public Schools

Skiatook’s Board of Education typically meets the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. All meetings are at 355 S. Osage St. in Skiatook. Agendas are posted here

Sperry Public Schools

Sperry’s Board of Education typically meets the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. All meetings are in the Sperry High School Commons, 400 W. Main St. in Sperry. Agendas are posted here

Berryhill Public Schools

Berryhill’s Board of Education typically meets the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. All meetings are in the Berryhill Education Service Center, 2900 1/2 S. 65th W. Ave. Agendas are posted here

Sand Springs Public Schools

Sand Springs’ Board of Education typically meets monthly on Mondays at 7 p.m. All meetings are in the Central Administrative Services board room, 14 W. 4th St. in Sand Springs. Agendas are posted here

Glenpool Public Schools

Glenpool’s Board of Education typically meets monthly on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. All meetings are located in the Glenpool Education Service Center, 140 W. 141 St. in Glenpool. Agendas are posted here

Liberty Public Schools

Liberty’s Board of Education typically meets monthly on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. All meetings are in the Administration Building, 2727 E. 201st St. S. in Mounds. Agendas are posted here

Tulsa Area

Oologah-Talala Public Schools

Oologah-Talala’s Board of Education meets monthly on Mondays at 6 p.m. All meetings are in the board room of the School District Administrative Offices, 10700 S. Highway 169 in Talala. Agendas are posted here

Claremore’s Board of Education typically meets the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. All meetings are in the Enrollment Center, 101 W. 11th St. in Claremore. Agendas are posted here.

Verdigris Public Schools

Verdigris’ Board of Education typically meets the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. All meetings are located at 26501 S. 4110 Road in Claremore. Agendas are posted here.

Catoosa’s Board of Education typically meets the third Monday of each month at 6 p.m. All meetings are located in the Education Service Center, 2000 S. Cherokee St. in Catoosa. Agendas are posted here.

Coweta Public Schools

Coweta’s Board of Education typically meets the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. All meetings are at Intermediate High School, 14699 S. 305th E. Ave. in Coweta. Agendas are posted here.

Mounds Public Schools

Mounds’ Board of Education typically meets the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. All meetings are in the school superintendent’s office, 1603 Russell Ave. in Mounds. Agendas are posted here.

To address the board, submit a “request to be heard” card to the board clerk before the scheduled meeting. All speakers receive three minutes. Guidelines and the submission form can be found here.

Kiefer Public Schools

Kiefer’s Board of Education typically meets monthly on Mondays at 6 p.m. All meetings are in the Administration Building, 118 W. Indiana Ave. in Kiefer. Agendas are posted here.

Lone Star School

Lone Star’s Board of Education typically meets monthly on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. All meetings are located in the Lone Star Administration Building, 2945 S. Hickory St. in Sapulpa. Agendas are posted here.

To address the board, “communicate all wishes” to the superintendent by letter or email, according to Superintendent Tracie Hale, thale@lonestar.k12.ok.us.

Sapulpa Public Schools

Sapulpa’s Board of Education typically meets the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. All meetings are in Room 200 of the Washington Administrative Center, 511 E. Lee Ave. in Sapulpa. Agendas are posted here.

To address the board, send a request to the superintendent or board president five days before the scheduled meeting. Guidelines and the submission form can be found here.

Anderson School District

Anderson’s Board of Education typically meets monthly on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. All meetings are in the library, through the west entrance of the school building, 2195 Anderson Road in Anderson. Agendas are posted here.

Allen Bowden Public Schools

Allen Bowden’s Board of Education typically meets the second Monday of each month at 4:30 p.m. All meetings are in the Board of Education Room, at 7049 Frankoma Road in Tulsa. Agendas are posted here.

To address the board, complete a required form before the scheduled meeting. All speakers receive three minutes, and groups receive five minutes.
