The Tulsa City-County Library is hosting its annual Friends of the Helmerich Library (FOHL) book sale April 17-18 and April 24-25 at Helmerich Library. It features thousands of discounted books, CDs, DVDs and other media.

Shoppers can get early access to Preview Day noon to 4 p.m. April 16 with a $20 donation, which includes a one-year VIP FOHL membership. The sale will close from 4–5 p.m. to restock, then reopen from 5-8 p.m. for Preview Night, with $5 early access for individuals and $10 for families.

Attendance is limited, and shoppers will be admitted in numbered groups. Numbers are available starting at 10 a.m. at Helmerich Library. Each shopper needs a number, but only one person per group has to pay at checkout.

Starting Friday, Apr. 17, shopping hours are 10 a.m. to 5p.m.

Most items are priced between $1 and $2, with children’s books available for less. Each Saturday of the sale will feature a $10 fill-a-bag option from 3-5 p.m. Materials are sorted by category and offer books across all genres, so there is something for everyone.

Proceeds from the sale support literacy programs and library services across Tulsa City-County Library branches, including summer reading initiatives and improvements at local branches.

The annual event has raised more than $150,000 for library programs since it began in 2004.
