A $20.3 million bond package is going to Jenks Public Schools voters Tuesday.
The package would fund renovations to the Frank Herald Fieldhouse, continued expansion of the Freshman Academy, added air conditioning in district school buses and improvement to the tennis facilities. Polling places are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
“This bond proposal gives us the opportunity to maintain and improve our facilities while planning thoughtfully for what lies ahead,” said Superintendent Stacey Butterfield.
The first proposition totals $19.6 million. More than two-thirds of that funding would go to large renovation projects to district facilities. That includes added space for wrestling at the Frank Herald Fieldhouse and 10 new resurfaced courts at the tennis facility.
The rest would support district-wide purchases for classroom furniture, technology, textbooks or musical instruments and safety improvements like security cameras or secured building entrances.
The second proposition totals $660,000 and would go toward transportation.
Jenks need a 60% supermajority of voters to pass the bond proposal. Polling places can be found here.
