We don’t believe in reporting the news from our desks. Led by community journalism director Lexi Goodnough, our staff are on the ground, meeting residents where they live, work and play.
Here is where you can find us the week of Oct. 4-10. Got an idea of where we should head next? Email us at lexi@tulsaflyer.org about how we can connect with your community.
Chat with journalists at Tulsa State Fair: If you’re headed to the Tulsa State Fair, stop by our booth inside the SageNet Center at Expo Square and say hello! We’ll be hosting activities, passing out candy for kids (and grown-ups), and meeting and greeting fairgoers through the end of the fair Oct. 11. We can’t wait to hear your stories.
Find connections at Faith & Blue: Flyer and Eagle staff will be at Faith & Blue, an afternoon of connection between the Tulsa Police Department and faith communities set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 10 at First Baptist Church of North Tulsa, 1414 N. Greenwood Ave. Expect food trucks, live performance from community choirs, games, resource tables and other entertainment.
Mark your calendars for our Pride event: Stop by the Tulsa Flyer and The Oklahoma Eagle’s Pride event set for noon to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at 101 E. Archer St. The free event will feature a barter market, programming from Black Queer Tulsa, a connection circle and an open mic. RSVP is required.
