Drone deliveries could soon be available in more neighborhoods across Tulsa. Manna Air Delivery has filed permit applications to build three new drone hubs in east Tulsa.
The Irish company filed permit applications with the City of Tulsa Aug. 25 to build a drone base at the Shops at Alameda near 21st and Sheridan just south of Java Doughs, behind Plaza Saint Cecilia at 2160 S. Garnett Road and in the parking lot east of Citi Trends at 11215 E. 31st St.
The map below shows the three new locations where Manna plans to build the city’s next hubs as well as the operational hub on Cherry Street. Each drone hub has a coverage radius between 1-2 miles.
Manna first launched drone delivery operations in Tulsa Aug. 12 from its hub on Cherry Street. In a statement provided to the Flyer this week, Terri O’Keeffe, Manna’s director of corporate affairs, said the company will share more information on the east Tulsa drone delivery bases as the permitting process continues.
“Site selection for Manna’s delivery bases is driven by local demand and evaluated through key operational criteria, including commercial business and housing density, airspace regulations and permitting,” O’Keeffe said. “We will share additional details on project timelines, site development and service launch as the permitting process advances.”’
