This Saturday, there’s the Route 66 Capital Cruise festivities happening in midtown, but that’s not all. Here are five other fun events to check out around Tulsa. 

Admiral Twin 75th birthday celebration
5:30 p.m. Friday

Tulsa’s iconic drive-in celebrates its diamond birthday with a large cake, ribbon cutting, live music and a screening of “The Outsiders” that starts at dusk (between 8:30 and 8:45 p.m.) followed by “Cool Hand Luke.”

Community Tree Planting: Katy Trail
9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday

Up With Trees hosts this community event in Sand Springs that begins with a planting demonstration before small groups start planting trees. Bring water and gloves if you have them, but don’t worry — they’ll provide the tools, guidance and gloves if you don’t have them. Volunteers 17 and younger must be with a guardian for all volunteer work.

Jenks America Food Truck Festival
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday

Visit downtown Jenks for a day full of a variety of food from the region’s best food trucks, along with unique vendors. From sweet treats to savory favorites and everything in between, there is something for everyone to enjoy

Sunny Dayz Mural Festival
Noon to 8 p.m. Saturday

Cruise north on Route 66 for half an hour to check out a vibrant celebration of public art in Claremore’s Lilac District. This year’s festival will feature the creation of 26 new murals, transforming the district into an even more colorful and inspiring destination while spotlighting the work of women and gender-minority muralists from across the country right here in Oklahoma.

All Roads Lead to Dreamland: Kickball kickoff
4 p.m. Sunday

Teams featuring a mix of local leaders, creatives and community members compete in a high-energy, entertaining game, complete with live play-by-play. Tickets include entry to the Drillers game against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals at 1 p.m. Read more about the event started by rapper and educator Steph Simon.
