We don’t believe in reporting the news from our desks. Led by Community Journalism Director Lexi Goodnough, our staff are on the ground, meeting residents where they live, work and play.
Here is where you can find us the week of May 25-31. Got an idea of where we should head next? Email us at lexi@tulsaflyer.org about how we can connect with your community.
Flyer Book Club meetup: It’s time to finish turning those pages. The Tulsa Flyer Book Club meets at 6 p.m. May 26 inside 101 E. Archer St. to discuss “The Ground Breaking: An American City and Its Search for Justice” by Scott Ellsworth. Want to find out our June selection first? Sign up here to get our book club emails.
Legacy Fest: Eagle and Flyer staff will table at Black Wall Street Legacy Festival’s African Street Festival hosted in the Historic Greenwood District, 700 N. Greenwood Ave, from May 30-31. Come out to learn more about the district’s history and tell us what kind of stories you want to see our reporters cover. See the full calendar of events here.
Route 66 Capital Cruise: We’ll be getting our kicks on Route 66 with community members and local business owners for the Route 66 Capital Cruise and centennial celebration. During the cruise, which kicks off at 8 a.m., you’ll find us in the University Center plaza, home of Sweetie Pie’s Amish Bakery and Variedades Vicki.
