Holiday parades are in full swing and schools are nearing winter break. If you’re searching for things to do — and at an affordable cost — the Flyer has you covered.

Here’s a list of free experiences for you and your family around Tulsa this holiday season.

Winter Wonderland

You can ice skate, hop on a train ride, make crafts, meet Santa Claus and sip on a hot beverage at Winter Wonderland off 43rd Street & South Yale. Admission is free, but there are ticketed activities. 

  • Public skating: $15 + $5 to rent skates
  • Train ride: $5 per person
  • Craft station: Free
  • Inflatables: $5 per child for two hours
  • Meet Santa Claus: Free
  • Concessions: Price varies

Carols and Cocoa

If you’re a last-minute present wrapper, you can bring those gifts to wrap in the Glenpool Library Meeting Room. They will have wrapping paper, bags, tape and some ribbon and bows you can use but supplies are limited. They ask you to bring no more than five gifts.

There will also be Wassail, a type of winter punch, for you to sip on. If you have some extra supplies you can donate, drop them off before the morning of Dec. 20.

Festive Washi Ornaments and Baubles

Global Gatherings: New Year’s Edition

There will be Celtic music by Finnegans Awake; games and activities from New Year’s traditions in Turkey, China, Myanmar, Afghanistan and Mexico; and Indonesian food as well as offerings from Kitchen 66 vendors representing Ukraine, Tunisia and Haiti.
