United States Senate

Oklahomans will elect a new U.S. Senator, choosing between former 1st District U.S. Rep. Kevin Hern and Democratic political newcomer N’Kiyla Jasmine Thomas. The seat was held by the late Jim Inhofe for 28 years until he retired in January 2023. Voters elected Markwayne Mullin to succeed him, and he resigned in March to become the U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security. Energy executive Alan Armstrong assumed the seat in March.

1st U.S. Congressional District

Two insurance business owners are seeking to become the Tulsa area’s next congressman. The U.S. 1st District seat is open after Kevin Hern resigned to run for U.S. Senate. Tulsa Public Schools board member and former teacher John Croisant is running as a Democrat against Republican Mark Tedford, who represented House District 69 that covers south Tulsa, Jenks and parts of Bixby.
