Government Reporter
What I do here
I am the Tulsa Flyer’s government reporter, focusing on accountability of Tulsa’s top policy decision makers and how they impact the surrounding community. My coverage will focus on all areas and demographics of Tulsa, including nearby incorporated and unincorporated communities.
My Background
I have a wide range of experience in several different media markets both at the national and local level. Upon graduating Hampton University in 2017, I covered city hall and the district attorney’s office in Philadelphia until the late summer of 2018. I also worked as a breaking news reporter covering police for The Commercial Appeal in Memphis, Tennessee, for a year and a half until I was hired on the Baltimore Sun’s criminal justice team. After two and a half years, I worked as a social justice reporter for HuffPost, covering national issues surrounding policing, district attorney offices, criminal justice trends and impactful elections around the country.
Additionally, I am a proud alum of the National Press Foundation’s 2024 Paul Miller Washington Reporting Fellowship and 2021 Reporting on Criminal Justice in the Age of George Floyd Fellowship.
Where can you find me in Tulsa?
I can be found all throughout Tulsa’s vibrant communities searching for stories and people to network with as I work to report on what matters most to the city’s community.
Journalistic ethics
I have a strong commitment to fairness, accurate reporting and accountability not only for decision makers in Tulsa — but in my own storytelling that upholds the best journalistic integrity.
