As the chief operating officer, my goal is to ensure our internal operations and organizational strategy effectively and sustainably support us in meeting the Tulsa Flyer’s mission.

MY BACKGROUND

I am from Tulsa and built my career in education, starting out as a special education teacher in Oklahoma then moving into school operations and leadership after getting my MBA. I’ve had the opportunity to lead in schools with ambitious missions and goals in several different states. I’m new to news but not to mission-driven organizations.

I thrive on building the strategy and tools to make good things happen, and I am excited to join the Tulsa Flyer to do just that.

I regularly explore various free events in Tulsa, like book clubs, fitness classes and random events.

JOURNALISTIC ETHICS

While I hadn’t considered journalistic ethics previously, my personal ethics are aligned with traditional journalistic ethics. I believe in clarity, accuracy and consistency and building the systems and practices that support those values.
