What I do here
I make sure our news team stays free and independent by engaging funders who care about Tulsa — not folks who want to influence our content. Lucky for me, Oklahoma is brimming with people who want everyone to have access to the information they need to make the important decisions in their lives. If that’s you, click the donate button. Every gift makes a difference.
MY BACKGROUND
I began my career as a commercial television journalist covering education, courts and the oil and gas business. Public media came calling in 2005, when a small PBS station in West Texas was in danger of becoming the first PBS affiliate in the country to go off the air. As the new GM, I formed a board who wasn’t about to let their town give Big Bird the boot. We rallied the community to save the vital service. It is still flourishing today and I’m a proud monthly donor.
I’ve since led fundraising for top PBS stations in Miami, Florida and Oklahoma and am just giddy about being able to put what I’ve learned to work for public media in my hometown.
WHERE YOU CAN FIND ME IN TULSA
I love playing tennis and recently decided to give pickleball a try. You might find me looking like a fool on a pickleball court. It’s harder than I thought! Lowe’s is my maltipoo, Phoebe Buffay’s, favorite store. We spend way too much money there.
