Record Store Day, an independent record store celebration, is this Saturday. Music fans can expect exclusive, small-run and regional titles, but every store’s inventory will be a little different from the next. Here’s a rundown of what you can expect at record stores across Oklahoma:
TULSA:
- Josey Records will open four hours early at 7 a.m., with live music, DJs, food, drinks and make-and-take tie-dye. They’ve been previewing their RSD titles on Instagram.
- Oil Capital Vinyl will open an hour early at 9 a.m. and initially limit capacity to four customers at a time. They’re offering 20% off pre-owned LPs at noon along with other discounts. Donuts and coffee provided. Here’s a list of their RSD titles.
- Boulevard Trash is celebrating 12 years in business during RSD, with in-store discounts all weekend and vinyl DJs spinning records all day Saturday.
- Studio Records will open three hours early at 7 a.m. with more than 1,000 RSD records — their biggest order ever.
- Monad Records & HiFi won’t have official RSD titles, but will offer 10% off all records, CDs and tapes.
ELSEWHERE:
- Screaming Earth in Owasso will open three hours early at 7 a.m., with 25% off used records, CDs and cassettes, a BOGO sale on albums in their budget bin and more. All purchases will be entered into a raffle. There will also be coffee and donus for customers. Here are the details.
