Tulsa’s arts and culture scene is full of shifting schedules and postponements due to a winter storm expected to hit Friday evening. We rounded up the latest — but this isn’t an exhaustive list, and details could change as weather develops. Check with your event organizer if you have questions about weekend events.
Signature Symphony
Signature Symphony’s concert, “Copland and the Wild West,” originally scheduled for Saturday has been moved up to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at TCC’s VanTrease Performing Arts Center for Education.
Current ticket holders may use their existing tickets. Tickets are still available to purchase.
The general public is also invited to a pre-concert talk at 6:30 p.m. with artistic director Scott Seaton and guest pianist Jeffrey Biegel at the VanTrease PACE. The pre-concert talk is free to attend and does not require a ticket.
Tulsa Performing Arts Center
Saturday evening’s performance of “Frozen” at Tulsa Performance Arts Center has been rescheduled to 7 p.m. Thursday. The Saturday afternoon performance of “Frozen” has been canceled.
All public OkMEA performances scheduled for Friday and Saturday are canceled.
All other performances are currently planned to proceed as scheduled. If any additional changes or cancellations become necessary, updates will be shared across Tulsa PAC’s social media platforms and via email to ticket holders.
Philbrook’s Wintering Weekend
Philbrook Museum of Art has reopened after a break following its December festival, and the midtown museum is ready for a cozy, snowy weekend.
There will be a Winter Stillness Walk at 5:30 p.m. Friday, 30 minutes before a Member Movie Night screening of the beloved ‘90s film “Cool Runnings.” Bring your favorite blanket and enjoy complimentary popcorn. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase at the Wild Flower Café pop-up in the museum.
As of Thursday morning, Philbrook’s weekend schedule includes Meditation at the Museum with EASE Meditation + Movement at 11 a.m. Saturday and Gentle Yoga at 3 p.m. Sunday.
Keep an eye on their social media channels for updates.
Horton Records events
A special Friday Hang at the VFW Post 577 kicks off at 7 p.m with Greg Koch and the Koch Marshall Trio followed by The Steepwater Band at 8:30 p.m., Seth Lee Jones at 10 p.m. and then Dustin and Jesse’s Higher Education at 11:30 p.m. It’s free to attend and there will be free pizza.
Cain’s Ballroom is still slated to host Hortonfest Saturday. The concert is a celebration of the founder Brian Horton’s birthday and 20 years of Horton Records, a nonprofit music organization supporting Oklahoma musicians. Check their Facebook for updates.
