We’ve got the scoop on your weekend. Here’s the Flyer’s top five.
Lights On Utica Square
6:30 p.m. Thursday
Celebrate the start of the Christmas season at Utica Square when the midtown shopping and dining center turns on its holiday light display — the longest-running in Tulsa. Grady Nichols will lead the Lights On Band for the 14th consecutive year.
2000s music tribute
8 p.m. Friday
Head to the Vanguard for a free show featuring favorites that were blasted at every Hot Topic in the 2000s. It will feature members of local pop-metal band A Mixtape Catastrophe playing songs from Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, System of a Down and more.
Home for the Holidays: A Blue Whale Comedy Night
8 p.m. Friday
Settle in at LowDown for a night of festive storytelling, unfiltered holiday confessions and the kind of family drama you can laugh at because it isn’t yours (hopefully).
Route 66 Book Talk
3 p.m. Saturday
Magic City Books hosts Jim Ross and Shellee Graham for a free in-store event to celebrate the release of their latest book, “Route 66: The First 100 Years.” The event comes as Tulsa prepares for the centennial celebration of the historic highway in 2026.
13th Annual Nog Off
6 p.m. Sunday
More than a dozen restaurants and bars from across the Tulsa Arts District will compete for the Glogg “golden” egg for the best nog. Proceeds benefit the various arts programs at Emerson Montessori Elementary School. Attendees must be 21 and older.
