Turkey season is upon us with more folks in need this year. If you’re one of them, here are just a few places in the Tulsa area passing out turkey, groceries and free Thanksgiving meals.

Tulsa County residents can take home a Thanksgiving basket and prepare their own Thanksgiving meal. Photo identification is required for the head of the household as well as documentation for others in the home. Dated proof of residence is also required.
Pick up a basket at these locations and times:
South Location
- Thursday, Nov. 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 2 to 5:30 p.m.
- Friday, Nov. 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Main Location
- Monday, Nov. 10 through Thursday, Nov. 13 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 2 to 5:30 p.m.
- Friday, Nov. 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Drive through their annual turkey giveaway and take home one free turkey per vehicle. The giveaway is at noon Nov. 8.

Attend Friendsgiving and get a warm meal, plus a bag of groceries and a turkey. The West Campus Friendsgiving is set for 11:30 a.m. Nov. 20. The North Campus Friendsgiving begins at 11 a.m. Nov. 22.

John 3:16 Mission is handing out food boxes with Thanksgiving items at a drive-thru from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both Nov. 22 and Nov. 24.
If you want to donate items for these boxes, shop online and have your order sent directly to the center or drop off items at one of their Saturday food drives — Nov. 8, Nov. 15 and Nov. 22 —from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. A shopping list of requested items and specific food drive locations are online.

Loves and Fishes is giving out 150 turkeys Nov. 21 and another 150 turkeys Nov. 22. Both giveaways start at 10 a.m. and include a bag of groceries. It is first come, first served. You must be an adult with photo identification and proof of Oklahoma residency.

Continuing their annual tradition, Tally’s Good Food Cafe will offer a Thanksgiving Day meal from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 27 at their location on 11th Street. Enjoy turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, rolls, pumpkin pie and peach cobbler. It is first come, first served. They plan to prepare enough food for up to 1,300 people.
