Auditions will be held at Tulsa’s Norman Theatre Jan. 30-Feb. 1, along with a Valentine’s weekend of auditions in Oklahoma City. Each audition day will be scheduled in one-hour time blocks and also include designated dance and movement calls. More audition information and signups can be found here

Video submissions will be accepted only for performers who are unable to attend either the Tulsa or Oklahoma City auditions in person. Videos must be submitted by the end of day Feb. 2.

“Oklahoma!” is based on the late Cherokee Nation citizen Lynn Riggs’ 1931 play “Green Grow the Lilacs.” Set in 1906 in farm country outside of Claremore, Indian Territory, the story focuses on farm girl Laurey Williams and her courtship by two rival suitors, cowboy Curly McLain and farmhand Jud Fry.

The musical will be directed by TPAC CEO Mark Frie, who played Jud Fry for several years at Discoveryland Ranch in Sand Springs. That production ran from 1977 to 2011, with the Discoveryland Charitable Foundation leading a recent effort to revive it

Tickets for “Oklahoma!” will go on sale this spring. In tribute to Discoveryland’s legacy, TPAC will offer optional ticket add-ons that include a traditional Oklahoma barbecue meal with berries and cream prior to the performance. Audiences will also enjoy live pre-show entertainment featuring cast members and local musicians.
