What I do here

As a visual journalist it is my responsibility to take photos and video for all of our stories. From breaking news to features, portraits and much more, I am out in the community daily with my camera. I can’t wait to photograph Tulsa!

My Background

I grew up in southern California. I am very fond of the outdoors so I chose Colorado for college. After studying journalism, I took a job at the Wyoming Tribune Eagle in Cheyenne, Wyoming for a year and a half where I was the only photographer on staff. 

My favorite things to photograph are breaking news and long-form feature stories. Some of the stories I have done in the past have focused on sustainable agriculture and a rodeo family in eastern Colorado. I enjoy getting to know the community and diving deeper into the issues that matter most. During my time in Wyoming, I became accustomed to moving very quickly from assignment to assignment. Here in Tulsa I look forward to slowing down and really taking my time with each assignment.

I’m new here so I’m always looking for recommendations. I love coffee and almost all food! As an avid fly fisherman, I am always looking for new rivers and creeks to explore so don’t hesitate to reach out and let me know the best spots!

Journalistic ethics

I believe in honestly portraying every story I cover. First and foremost, we are all people. I like to start with a conversation and learn about my subjects before even taking out the camera, this helps build relationships within the community and leads to better photos. I try to be fair to everyone involved in each story and give everyone an equal voice and a place to say what they want to say. Journalistic ethics are something I am very passionate about, and I take pride in photographing each story accurately and with the dignity they deserve. It is a true honor to photograph the people of Tulsa.
