We don’t believe in reporting the news from our desks. Led by Community Journalism Director Lexi Goodnough, our staff are on the ground, meeting residents where they live, work and play.
Here is where you can find us the week of Nov. 10-14. Got an idea of where we should head next? Email us at lexi@tulsaflyer.org about how we can connect with your community.
Connect in north Tulsa: The Flyer is tabling at Oasis Fresh Market, 1725 N. Peoria Ave., from 3 to 6 p.m. Nov. 10 and 12. Meet Lexi, Oklahoma Eagle managing editor Ross Terrell and cost of living reporter Libby Hobbs. Tell us what stories we’re missing and which ones we should tell next.
Join us for a book talk: Flyer food, arts and culture editor Tim Landes will sit down with journalist Scott Latta to discuss his new book, “Gods of the Smoke Machine: Power, Pain, and the Rise of Christian Nationalism in the Megachurch,” at 7 p.m. Nov. 12 inside Magic City Books. The free event will explore Latta’s findings about America’s largest churches.
