Tulsa filmmaker Charles Elmore almost always has a camera on him, and we’re not talking about his role as B camera operator for Sterlin Harjo’s new FX series “The Lowdown.” He often has a 35mm film camera hanging off his shoulder.

While on set, Elmore snapped behind-the-scenes shots of the cast and crew — some of which he’s shared with the Flyer to provide a unique perspective on the production that spanned from Tulsa to Bartlesville and many locations in between.

“The Lowdown” follows citizen journalist Lee Raybon, a self-proclaimed Tulsa “truthstorian” played by Ethan Hawke. It also features Jeanne Tripplehorn, Keith David, Kyle MacLachlan, Tim Blake Nelson, Peter Dinklage and more.

The series, inspired by the life of citizen journalist Lee Roy Chapman, airs on FX at 8 p.m. Tuesdays and is available on Hulu the next day. Its season finale is slated for Nov. 4.
