What I do here
I’m the social media editor, where I work to make our social media an open door into local journalism. My goal is to help more Tulsans feel seen in the news and create ways for people to engage with our newsroom in real time. So please comment, DM or @ us!
My Background
I previously worked in digital media and communications for public figures, nonprofits and creative agencies. I’ve produced content for people like Mike Bloomberg and Nick Kroll and worked on projects with Netflix and Hilarity for Charity.
I started my career in restaurant kitchens, so I’m a line cook at heart. I spent years alongside people whose stories often go untold. That experience shaped how I approach journalism and storytelling today: by listening first and meeting people where they are.
I came to Tulsa from Florida when my rent went up $750 per month and the growing feeling that Florida had lost its community feel and was being sold to corporations started to creep in. Tulsa feels so familiar to me as someone who grew up in southwest Florida in the early 2000s because, like Tulsa, my hometown of Fort Myers had nothing going on downtown until a few years ago and was booming until Hurricane Ian arrived in 2022. We also get tornadoes!
Where can you find me in Tulsa?
Probably in a Braum’s drive-thru, looking for Cheddar Whales at Dollar Tree or trying to park downtown.
Journalistic ethics
I believe local journalism works best when it feels human, honest and connected to the people it’s for. That means leading with transparency, staying accountable and never losing sight of who’s impacted by the stories we tell.
